As you know, on Saturday February 7th, I will be racing in the USA Cross Country Championships in Boulder, CO. I've come up with a contest as a fun way to get you guys involved in the race. Here's how it works- guess my 4k, 8k and 12k (finish) times. After the race, I'll add up how far away you were from each split, and the person with the lowest time total will win a Brooks Essential Run Jacket (below). Tweet at me using my Twitter handle (@ryanvail) and include your three splits with the hashtag #VailUSA before race time on Saturday (1pm MT).
Example:
Your tweet: "@ryanvail 12:03, 24:10, 36:41 #VailUSA"
4k- 12:03 vs. 12:08 (5 sec off)
8k- 24:10 vs. 24:00 (10 sec off)
12k (finish) - 36:41 vs. 36:35 (6 sec off)
Your total time would be 21 seconds. All official splits will be posted online at usatf.org after the race. Good luck!
When will the winner be announced?
ReplyDeleteCongrats Ryan on your 4th place finish! With a 60:00 min half marathoner 4 seconds in front of you and a 13:02 guy way behind you...I'd say it was a great day.
